Got almost two inches knit today!

Guernsey Potato Peel hat with Chart B finished.

Found a small error in Chart B but if you go by the photo you'll catch the mistake and be fine. It's on rounds 40-42 where the chart shows color D and it should be color E.

Stitch markers won on I Knit Mittens group

Lovely stitch markers made especially for me by bcrafter!

Guernsey Potato Peel Hat chart A almost done.

I wasn't sure if the Port color would show well against the Conifer but it looks great.

Guernsey Potato Peel Hat started.

I decided to go ahead and cast on this hat early, before the KAL officially starts next Saturday. Just in case there were any issues with the pattern, you understand, not any lack of control on my part! It's knitting up great and I love the colors I chose - Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift in Port, Damask, Natural White, Yellow Ochre, Granite, and Conifer. I think this is going to be a really fun KAL!

Heel flap started on left Raven Swirl sock.

This sock is knitting up fast, probably because it's only 63 sts and one strand of yarn, lol. I'm doing my regular heel flap instead of the lace pattern for longevity. I love how the colors in this Mill End are knitting up, the vertical pooling is fun.

Left Raven Swirl sock leg halfway done

I'm really enjoying knitting this pattern and love how the colors are pooling. While the pattern looks complicated, once you have the pattern set it's pretty easy to knit.

Raven Swirl KAL socks cast on!

First quarter KAL pattern in the STR group on Ravelry. The colors are so bright and cheerful in this Mill End yarn, these are going to be fun to knit!

First La Tricoteuse mitten, almost to the top decreases!

This is a fun pattern and I'm hoping to get some wear out of them this winter after class in March!

Second start on Tracy's Sirkler Cardigan,

I'm actually doing much better this time, think its the extra sleep I've gotten vacation. I hadn't realized how exhausted I had gotten over the last six weeks!

Snowflake Fingerless Gloves finished!

I'm so happy with these mitts - they fit perfectly and the colors I chose are great! These will be my personal mitts to wear off duty, I have a pair of Endpaper Mitts I keep at work.

STR Mill End I'm using for Raven Swirl KAL on STR Rav group.

Notice the black spots in the yellow? Dye pot accident, lol. That's why it's a Mill End, will be interesting to see how it looks knit up in this pattern.

Rip-it rip-it rip-it!

Rip-it rip-it rip-it! by BlueDragon2
Rip-it rip-it rip-it!, a photo by BlueDragon2 on Flickr.

After a very sleepless night with dreams of this sweater haunting me, I got up at 5:25 and ripped it out. I had reached the tipping point of too many issues with the project and my joy in it was gone. Keeping on was not making anything better, so it was time to start over. I'm not going to spend my valuable knitting time on something that doesn't bring me joy. I'm going to start over and knit from the inside of one ball and the outside of another to see how I like the color progression. When the photos I was taking showed brighter colors than real life, it became a red flag to me.

Left Snowflake Fingerless Glove done

It's fits my hand perfectly, now to get the second one cast on and knit. The pattern is well written and the charts give you three options - color, color and symbol, or just symbol, very nice. I'm going to see if the designer has other patterns available that I might want to knit. Cailyn Meyer, her username is CailynDragon on Ravelry.com.

Progress photo of left Snowflake Fingerless Glove

I have about ten more rounds to finish this glove. I'm so happy to be finally knitting this pattern, and the colors are working together very well. And I'm looking forward to wearing these in the cold weather this winter.

Socks for DH, first FO of 2013!

This makes two items on my to-do list for vacation that are now done. The needles I emptied will be used to reknit the toes on a Wollmeise sock, second time I've had to repair this same sock. I've decided I won't be using this yarn for socks anymore, just shawls. I love the intense colors and how it feels as I knit with it. It just doesn't do well in my shoes, even with well trimmed and filed nails. Now on to the next item on my list!

Rosemarkie 2 with armhole steeks about a third of the way up.

I'm suggesting a one month KAL on a Ravelry group to encourage me to get this vest done so I can finally wear it!

Tracy's Sirkler cardigan progress 01-01-13

Almost done with Chart B! It's so much fun to see the color changes work out in each strand.

Chart A completed on Tracy's Sirkler Cardigan.

Finished Chart A before midnight on New Year's Eve. Fun to watch the colors change as I work the charts.
